This hidden oasis is located just south of Marfa, Texas, and adjoins the nearby State Park. This remote location gives them the ability to offer some of the finest and most unique hunting experiences in Texas. Their custom-tailored hunts provide guests with the option to track game on foot, horseback, or 4×4 ranch vehicle. These trophy Carmen Mountain Whitetail hunts take place on 30,000 acres of pristine free-range habitat. Elevations range from 4,000 ft to 7,000 ft and hunters choose from mountainous terrain to open range. During the hunt you will be targeting age-class bucks and the trophy gallery is a great example of what to expect.

Carmen Mountain whitetail deer, like many other subspecies of whitetail deer, can be enticing to hunt for several reasons. They are a unique subspecies found in a relatively small and specific geographic area, primarily in the Carmen Mountains of West Texas and Northern Mexico. The rarity of this subspecies can make hunting them appealing to hunters looking for a distinctive and challenging experience.

Carmen Mountain whitetail deer are known for their elusive behavior and the rugged terrain they inhabit. Hunting them can be physically demanding and mentally challenging, which attracts hunters seeking a more difficult and adventurous hunting experience. The pursuit of a high-quality trophy is a motivating factor for many hunters. Hunting is deeply rooted in the culture and tradition of many regions, including West Texas and Mexico. For some hunters and local communities, the pursuit of Carmen Mountain whitetail deer is a way to connect with their heritage and traditions.

Efforts to restore the ranch's historic structures and native habitat began in the late 1980s. Under the auspices of the Texas Historical Commission, everything from the fort structures, landscaping to interior decor were renovated. Every aspect of the environment reflects features of Spanish and Mexican culture. Most of the modern conveniences are tastefully hidden from view so guests can truly feel that they’ve slipped back in time, but without forfeiting modern comforts. Through ongoing habitat restoration efforts, much of the 30,000 acre landscape has been returned to its pre-pioneer condition.
