DESCRIPTION:

This outfitter has been in the hunting industry for many years. Thier experience with big mule deer on the eastern plains of Colorado is unparalleled. They specialize in mule deer, antelope, elk, aoudad as well as many other species scattered throughout Colorado and Texas. Their commitment and dedication to the animals they pursue, and the clients they serve. This profile is outlining their Antelope hunts in the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Some of the units that are hunted requires drawing a permit through the state of Colorado. Some areas require 0 points to draw, while others can take up to 6+ points to draw. The outfitter/landowner's also have access to landowner tags on any given year, so please make sure and ask us about bypassing the draw and taking advantage of landowner tag opportunities. Otherwise, if you have points we can help you get applied for the units that applicable with the hunts offered here.

This outfitter’s hunts are conducted on private ranches throughout the eastern plains of Colorado. They lease and have permission to hunt hundreds of thousands of acres in many different units. On a typical day one of their guides will pick you up before daylight and proceed to areas where they have been consistently seeing antelope that meet the outfitters standards. At daylight they will begin glassing over such areas as pasture land, tall grass crp fields, and/or rough canyon country. It is their goal to find the biggest buck possible and make the best plan to be successful. They strive to harvest mature antelope in the 75" range and up, with the possibility of reaching 82 inches or more. Clients can expect to sit over a water hole/stock tank or spot and stalk. Being physically fit to walk, crawl, kneel, and sit for moderate periods is highly recommended. If you have something preventing you from accomplishing one or more of these tasks, give us a call and we can discuss your options. Additionally, people are always curious of what they can expect for shot ranges. It's difficult to predict an unknown situation, but the outfitter prefers to maintain 20-60 yard shots with a bow, up to 100 yards with a muzzleloader, and out to 500 with rifles. We can discuss longer shot situations if you're comfortable, but typically it's not necessary.

Depending on the hunt, be prepared to walk, walk bent over, crouch, kneel, crawl, and belly crawl. Crawling and belly crawling are most common on their archery and muzzleloader hunts, but do happen on occasion during rifle hunts. Getting in position can be a tedious task. In order to maximize your success, it is imperative that you follow their instruction. If there are any reasons that prevent you from following certain instructions, let them know and they'll make adjustments. Stalking situations are more pleasant if pants are equipped with knee pads, gloves have leather reinforced palms, thicker socks(or scuba/neoprene socks) are worn (in case boots are removed on a final approach), and you have a moderate to higher degree of flexibility. Start stretching now!

Shooting Preparation:

- Rifle: Shots are typically taken under 500 yards

- Muzzleloader: Shots are typically taken under 100 yards

- Archery: Shots are typically taken under 60 yards.

They highly recommend that archery clients get comfortable shooting from a seated position. Stalking and shooting situations can be awkward, so it is highly desired that you find a position that allows you to stay comfortable for long periods of time. They have found this to be a good alternative for most. If you have a desire to shoot further, the outfitter requires that you arrive with the equipment and the skills to accomplish the task. It is also imperative that you practice shooting from multiple positions (do not rely on a single shooting position), your equipment has been tuned and shot, you are comfortable with your equipment, you have quality equipment (especially arrows and broad-heads - they do not recommend expandable style heads). Much of your success lies in your gear and preparation. Be prepared.

Colorado uses a preference point system for drawing licenses in limited units. Each unit and season require a different number of preference points to draw a license. An applicant can apply for one preference point each year per species. Additionally, this outfitter has access to landowner vouchers each year for muzzleloader and rifle mule deer and whitetail deer, which allows you to hunt in years you do not draw. These vouchers are limited and must be discussed prior to your hunt. Rifle mule deer tags currently take 1 to 3 points to draw, muzzleloader take 1-2 points. Archery licenses can be purchased over-the-counter. For more information visit: https://cpw.state.co.us/

Hunts include a 1:1 or 2:1 hunter to guide ratio depending on what you’d like best. They will transport you for the duration of your hunt, provide you with professional hunt photos, cape your trophy, and make recommendations on game processors and taxidermists.
