This Do-It-Yourself / Unguided Sonora, Mexico, coues deer opportunity is considered excellent for several reasons! The owner/operator has a strong hunting culture and infrastructure, with experienced assistants who are familiar with the local deer populations, areas, terrain, landowners, etc. They have been providing unguided coues deer hunts for over 15 years with a near 100% success ratio to boot! They typically harvest half of the allocated tags per ranch to ensure quality and quantity, and most clients that begin hunting here repeat year after year.

This region of Sonora is known for its healthy and thriving Coues deer population. The natural beauty of the region, with its mountains, valleys, and canyons, makes for an overall great experience. The region's combination of terrain, climate, and habitat provides an ideal environment to thrive. The trophy potential is there, and the coues deer in this region can grow to impressive sizes, making it a popular destination for trophy hunters. The rugged landscape and ample food sources contribute to the development of large and high-quality deer all around. This area doesn't receive as much hunting pressure as some other areas in Sonora. This can lead to less-disturbed deer populations and potentially better hunting opportunities.

The terrain consists of mountains, valleys, and canyons, offers a wide range of hunting opportunities. Included with this trip is the following: Lodging, cook, cowboy/assistant, dedicated ranch, hunting license and tag, assistance with firearm permit, border crossing assistance and personal escort to the ranch from the border, and freezers/coolers and/or ice packs are provided for capes to ensure preservation

Not included with this trip is the following: Guide - this is a DIY hunt, firearm permit, groceries/food, additional groceries (If additional food is needed throughout the trip, the cook and/or cowboy can purchase more groceries at the hunters’ expense), skinning and caping (hunters need to be capable of caping and skinning trophies. Also transporting antlers and cape(s) over the border, The cowboy/assistant will assist with capes and boiling skulls to the best of his ability.) airport pickup and dropoff, field preparation of trophies, and gratuities (it’s customary to combine the tips for each person and split them evenly between the cook and the cowboy/assistant. This will be left up to the group.)

Gun Permit: $350 for each gun permit that covers two guns to be split between two clients (if applicable)

Food: $150 per hunter for food

These are 5 days hunts with a day of travel on the front and back ends of the hunt. Arrive in NACO on January 4th, 2024. These hunts include a tag for (1) Coues Deer and Javelina permits can be acquired upon request. Whatever that cost is you will have to cover that.
