DESCRIPTION:

What is the ultimate Alaska hunting experience? For many its Alaska brown bears on the Alaska Peninsula. When considering outfitters capable of delivering the ultimate experience this outfitter should be on the list. With over 40 years of experience on both the Alaska Peninsula and Kodiak Island this outfitter knows brown bears and they have the track record to prove it.

Brown bear hunts on the Alaska Peninsula, GMU 9, are open to hunting fall of odd years (2023,2025, Etc) and spring of even years, (2024, 2026…). This outfitter offers both spring and fall hunts on the Alaska Peninsula Wildlife Refuge. Your jumping off point will be King Salmon Alaska where you take a charter flight to base camp. The comfortable base camps have heated tents where you will enjoy hot meals and sleep on cots.

Fall hunts mean fish and berries. As the bears finish packing on the calories before hibernation, they can be found gorging themselves on fish and berries. Both of these food sources create an opportunity for the hunter and guide to judge, stalk, and set up for a shot on the bear. As a rule, brown bear hunts require long hours of glassing with particular attention on low light periods in the morning and evening.

Fall hunts are 12 days from 7 October -16 October of odd years.

Spring hunts are conducted similar to fall with different variables. Spring means post hibernation bear just coming out of the den and foraging for the first green grasses or winter killed protein. Boars will be in search of receptive sows and covering ground. The days are long in Alaska in May and you will be out glassing for the majority of daylight hours. With boars on the move it is important to stay vigilant.

Spring Hunts 15 days from 10 May – 25 May on even years.

Wolves can be harvested at no additionl fee on both srping and fall hunts.
