    HUNT DESCRIPTION

All of the hunt concessions on Kodiak have a history, and they all share a common theme: giant brown bears! With a history of high success rates on bears in the 9-to-10-foot range, Kodiak is a destination hunt for many big-game hunters.

Fall hunts are offered as a combination hunt for brown bear and Sitka blacktail deer, giving clients the opportunity to pursue both species during the same trip. Clients may also have the opportunity to add a mountain goat on a trophy-fee basis, provided permits are available.

The day typically begins by glassing from camp before taking a skiff to the area you will be hunting. A significant amount of time will be spent behind the glass, carefully picking apart the country in search of a mature bear. Clients need to be patient and prepared for long days in the field.

With a skiff available to move hunters throughout the area, the outfitter has the flexibility to explore different country as the hunt progresses. This allows the guide and hunter to adapt to bear movement, weather, and changing conditions throughout the hunt. The outfitter will arrange the charter floatplane transportation from Kodiak to camp.

    ACCOMMODATIONS

This is a cabin-based hunt designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout your stay. There is a small cook cabin where all meals are freshly prepared by the camp cook.

There are also two smaller cabins equipped with bunk beds and wood stoves for clients to stay in during the hunt, making camp extremely comfortable. The camp is also equipped with a shower house with hot water, allowing you to clean up and relax after a long day in the field.

    ABOUT THE OUTFITTER

This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter has been a registered outfitter in Alaska for many years. They hold permits to hunt multiple species across several areas of the state. In the Brooks Range, they offer hunts for Dall sheep, grizzly bear, and caribou. On their Kodiak Island concessions, they hunt brown bear, mountain goat, and Sitka blacktail deer. Few operations can offer such a diverse range of species across multiple areas under one outfitting operation.

The guides are experienced, and the focus is squarely on placing each hunter in a position to succeed rather than simply putting in the days. Whether you are traveling to Alaska for the first time or returning to pursue a specific animal, every hunter receives the same level of attention and effort throughout the hunt.

    LICENSE INFORMATION

The required hunting license and tags for this hunt may be purchased online before your trip or over the counter upon arrival at a licensed vendor.
