Life continues to bring on new experiences and changes. While sitting at one of my grandkid’s sporting events a few months back, it hit me like a brick that I was in a position to put the work week world behind me and never have to miss another family event, whether it be ball games, gymnastics, cheerleading, fishing trips, or simply a picnic up the canyon. After running my thoughts past my wife and receiving her enthusiastic support, my mind was made up to call it a career and move on to other adventures.

I have been blessed beyond measure to have made a living in the hunting industry over the last 33 years. Guiding and outfitting ate up 23 of those years, and for the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure of running the outfitter program at Huntin’ Fool. The friends I have made while helping members find and fulfill their hunting dreams are precious to me.

Rest assured that if you are a Huntin’ Fool member, you have some of the most experienced folks in the business at your disposal to help you plan hunts of all kinds with a simple phone call or by scouring the pages of the monthly magazine. The work that takes place by the talented people in the Huntin’ Fool organization that helps you wade through the muddy waters of figuring out where, when, and how to find your dream hunt is truly remarkable. It has been fascinating to watch the process.

I am excited about the new adventures ahead of me, and at the same time, I am sad that I will no longer get to rub shoulders on a daily basis with the talented people at the Huntin’ Fool headquarters. They are my friends, and I will miss them!

My bucket list is long, and I look forward to the experiences that are still ahead while crossing items of. I won’t be putting away the firearms or my archery gear just yet. I’m guessing that my fly rod will get dusted off and some new technology will show up in my golf bag. Hopefully I will cross paths with some of you while I’m working on my list. If you see an old guy in a white pickup truck acting like a teenager, come say hi!
