The Bino Key from General Season is the tool that every hunter needs! When you set up for a long glassing session, you want to make sure that you not only have a solid platform but also an adapter that allows you to quickly release and re-attach. The Bino Key not only allows for quick release from the base, but it can also detach from the tripod still attached to the quick release plate for easy transitions to a spotting scope, camera, or something else.

“Growing up in Arizona, I learned early on that to be a successful spot and stalk hunter, you must have stable optics to be able to glass wild game, especially in a dry desert environment where movement is minimal during daylight hours. Of course, it is easy to glass for shape and colors while handholding binoculars, but as soon as you are glassing into thick brush or glassing for tiny movements from bedded animals, it becomes critical to have steady binoculars mounted on a tripod. If you have tried to glass for long periods of time with a spotting scope, you have realized that it is not comfortable and is difficult to identify game with only one eye open.

Over the years, we have seen countless solutions for binocular-to- tripod attachment methods. I prefer a solid mount and not a strap or clamp style option. For me, it is important to have a mounting stud that stays attached to the binoculars so I don’t have to unscrew the post every time I want to place the binoculars back in my chest harness. Our good friends at General Season developed this user-friendly post and key system that is now available for most binoculars on the market! The key stays attached to your binoculars, and you’ll never notice it catch on your harness or in their case. The post can attach to any tripod adapter plate, so you can remove the post easily from your tripod head. The key locks in so that gravity or a bump will not send your binoculars to the ground. It’s a great product for you to enter the world of glassing with two eyes from a tripod this next fall!” – Austin Atkinson, Hunt Advisor
