ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter operates in Alaska and is built on integrity, hard work, and a real respect for the country they work in. Fair chase and wildlife conservation are treated as obligations rather than talking points, and the team is deliberate about bringing on people who share that outlook, since the future of guided hunting in this state depends on it. More than twenty years of experience sits behind the operation. Both hunting and fishing adventures are offered, which suits Alaska, where the two often overlap on the same trip. For hunters who want a rugged frontier experience run by people who take the responsibility seriously, this operation is set up for exactly that.

HUNT DETAILS:
This is a trophy caribou hunt on the Alaska Peninsula, and Huntin' Fool advisors have hunted it personally. Hunters fly into Cold Bay a day or two ahead, and the outfitter flies them out to camp as soon as weather and daylight allow. Hunts run two hunters to one guide unless arranged otherwise. The hunting is glassing, often across vast expanses of tundra, to locate animals and then stalk into range. Caribou move constantly, so hunters need to be ready for a pursuit that shifts by the hour across varied terrain. This is not the North Slope. The southern Peninsula herd is isolated and managed by Alaska Department of Fish and Game to hold between twenty-five hundred and forty-five hundred animals, so caribou are spread out in small groups ranging from singles to bands of ten or twenty. Most bull groups hold a couple of shooters, and trophy potential here is high.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
This is a tent hunt, so hunters should pack accordingly. Weather on the Peninsula is the defining factor and it is rarely kind. Conditions run wet and windy as a rule, storms with fifty mile per hour winds show up every year, and gusts have topped one hundred. Heavy duty rain gear is not optional here. The terrain around camp varies from tundra and marsh to beaches and rocky hills, so waterproof hiking boots plus either waders or hip boots are strongly recommended depending on which a hunter prefers walking in. Brown bear, walrus, whales, seals, fox, wolves, and bald eagles are all common around camp.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
The required hunting license and tags for this hunt may be purchased online before your hunt or over the counter upon arrival at a license vendor. Important for non-residents: to hunt Dall sheep, mountain goat, or brown/grizzly bear, you must be accompanied by an Alaska-licensed guide.
