ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter has built its reputation over nearly forty years of service in Texas. The operation runs on roughly ten thousand acres of prime hunting ground in one of the more game-rich parts of the state, and whitetail are the focus. The property is low-fence and free-range, which matters a great deal in Texas and means the deer here behave like wild deer rather than managed livestock. Abundant fresh water, well-maintained roads, and eight consecutive years of protein feeding have kept the herd in strong condition. The results show in the animals. Hunters looking for a free-range Texas whitetail hunt will find the fundamentals in place here.
HUNT DETAILS:
The whitetails on this ranch are low-fence and free-range, and bucks typically score between one hundred twenty and one hundred thirty inches and better, with larger deer taken over the years. What stands out most is the track record. The success rate has been one hundred percent since 1996, which is remarkable on wild deer and reflects decades of consistent management rather than luck. Hunters can hunt however they prefer. Spot and stalk, sitting a blind, and rattling are all on the table, and the outfitter will tailor the hunt to whatever a hunter wants to do. Hunts run four full days and can be fully guided or semi-guided. The package covers more than one animal, including a trophy buck, a cull or management buck, a doe, and unlimited predators such as bobcat, fox, mountain lion, and coyote. There are no additional trophy fees, and game care, mount preparation, and delivery to a local taxidermist are handled.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters stay in a modest, comfortable ranch house right next to the property. There are two bedrooms, each with three bunk beds, giving six sleeping spots and making it a good fit for a group. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, which is unusual at this size and welcome after a long day. The shared living area is simple but inviting, with enough seating for everyone to gather at the end of the day. A fully stocked kitchen is available for preparing meals. Wifi and central heat and air are both provided. The house is close to the hunting grounds but stays quiet.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
To hunt in Texas as a non-resident, you must obtain a Texas hunting license from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). A Non-Resident General Hunting License is $315: This license allows you to hunt any legal bird or animal, including deer.
