ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter is a family owned and operated business in northwest Colorado, heading into its fifteenth year. Elk, mule deer, and antelope are the species pursued, and the hunting takes place on two ranches the family has come to know intimately over that time. Both properties carry excellent habitat and hold game through spring, summer, and fall rather than only when hunters show up, which means the animals are resident rather than transient. Being family run keeps the operation small and personal, and hunters deal directly with the people managing the ground. Fifteen years of memories built for hunters is the record they point to, and the repeat business backs it up.

HUNT DETAILS:
This outfitter hunts two private properties near Hayden, Colorado. Dry Fork covers three thousand acres ten miles north of town in GMU 441, and Williams Park covers seventy-five hundred acres fourteen miles south in GMU 13. Both are managed with restraint. The number of hunters taken each season is limited and rest periods are built in between hunts, which keeps pressure low and deer moving naturally rather than pushed into hiding. That is the real benefit of exclusive private access, and it shows in the hunting. Bucks in the one hundred sixty to one hundred eighty inch class are the realistic target, and success has been high. Mature high-country deer move down onto these ranches, which brings better bucks into play than the acreage alone would suggest. Rifle hunts are guided two hunters to one guide, while archery hunts are guided one on one. Meals, lodging, and transportation from Yampa Valley Regional airport are included.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters stay in a clean, comfortable ranch house with modern amenities, including private bedrooms and hot showers. That means nobody is sharing a room or waiting in line at the end of a long day, which is not something every private land hunt can offer. Hearty home-cooked meals are served daily. Hunts take place on well-managed private ground with low hunting pressure, so the pace stays relaxed rather than rushed. For hunters who want a western hunt without giving up comfort, the combination of a real bed, good food, and quiet country works well, and it makes the week enjoyable for the non-hunting hours too.
