HUNT DETAILS:
These Montana cow elk hunts are 2-day shoulder season hunts offered after the general elk season, giving hunters an accessible cow elk opportunity without the traditional limited draw process. Hunts take place on private land north of Billings in District 005-00 and use an over-the-counter, region-specific cow elk tag, with unused general elk tags sometimes remaining valid during this season. This hunt is focused on opportunity, meat, and value rather than trophy bulls, making it a great option for hunters looking to fill the freezer or extend their season. Most days include morning and evening hunting sessions, active glassing, moving through productive elk country, and working into position for controlled shot opportunities based on elk movement, weather, and hunter ability. Lodging, meals, guide service, field care, and harvest support are included, with optional add-ons available for a second cow or extra hunting days when conditions allow.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations for these shoulder season cow elk hunts are provided in a comfortable bunkhouse located on the hunting property north of Billings, Montana. Hunters typically stay for three nights and two hunting days, allowing plenty of time to settle in and enjoy the experience. Lodging and meals are included throughout the hunt, providing a warm and convenient place to relax after time spent in the field. The bunkhouse offers a comfortable hunting camp atmosphere where hunters can enjoy good food, share stories from the day, and prepare for the next morning’s hunt. Any motel lodging or rental before or after the hunt is not included.
