HUNT DETAILS:
These fully guided elk hunts are conducted as traditional horseback wilderness hunts based out of comfortable wall tent camps along the Little Grays river, just outside of Alpine Wyoming. Hunters begin each morning before daylight with a hearty breakfast in camp before saddling horses and riding into remote mountain country as the sun rises over the high elevations of the Rockies. Hunts take place in rich elk habitat consisting of timbered ridges, open meadows, creek bottoms, and steep mountain terrain where bugling bulls can often be heard echoing through the valleys during the fall season and even from camp. Horses are used daily to access remote country and cover ground efficiently, though hunters should still be prepared for spot-and-stalk hunting on foot when opportunities present themselves. Long days are spent pursuing elk in some of Wyoming’s most scenic wilderness country before returning to camp each evening for hot meals, warm wall tents, and time spent around the campfire. They also offer a mule deer combo hunt operated from the same camp, giving ambitious hunters the opportunity to pursue both Rocky Mountain elk and mule deer during their hunt.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations for these hunts are based out of a comfortable backcountry-style camp located deep within Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest. Hunters stay in spacious 12x14 wall tents equipped with carpeted floors, wood-burning stoves, generator-powered lighting, and real beds with mattresses to provide a warm and comfortable place to rest after long days in the mountains. The camp also features a large cook and dining tent outfitted with restaurant-style appliances where hunters enjoy hearty breakfasts and family-style dinners each day. Lunch supplies are provided daily so hunters can prepare packed lunches to take into the field while hunting. The combination of comfortable camp accommodations, quality meals prepared by the camp cook, and beautiful mountain views makes this trip an unforgettable one.
