Big Game and Trophy Hunting:
These hunts are professionally guided expeditions for those seeking the true New Zealand experience. This outfitter has several privately owned, well-managed properties which exceed over 100,000 acres. They also hold permits to hunt government land, offering endless options to ensure that both the quality of the animals and terrain can be matched to each hunter. For the hunts you will be based out of one lodge and your outfitter will be actively assisting in guiding and ensuring 100% success rate is obtained.
As a client, you will enjoy access to thousands of acres of prime, scenic, and private South Island hunting terrain with superb trophies ranging from Representative to Record Class. Their private land hunting preserves are ideally suited to spot-and-stalk style hunting with a blend of alpine vegetation, Manuka trees and Mataguari brush cover, making the perfect mountain hunting environment for red stags. They have three preserves that maintain that fair chase feeling with a careful game management program and exceptional genetics, enabling our red stag and big game hunting to be the best in the world.
The red stag and other game animals that live on these pristine preserves are self-propagating. The preserves are unlike any others here in New Zealand and no one has put as much effort into creating the perfect hunting opportunity for our game species as we have.
Most of the hunting is spot-and-stalk style with hunters choosing to hunt on foot and with the assistance of ATV’s on our extensive tracks to get to new areas and to gain elevation. For our high mountain species, Tahr and Chamois, our hunts are conducted in more steep mountainous terrain where we cannot use ATVs. For the hunters after a physical challenge, we foot hunt these species during day trips or spike camps. For other less physically able hunters we use the assistance of helicopters to find and locate mature trophies then get dropped off in a position to stalk and/or shoot. Using heli transport enables all hunters to experience the mountain hunts without the physical requirements of a foot hunt and is known as one of the most exciting hunts in the world.
