ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter has decades of experience guiding on the legendary Arizona Strip and stands among the most respected names working it. Trophy-class mule deer are the specialty, and the reputation comes from consistent results, intimate knowledge of the units, and a work ethic that matches one of the most demanding hunting environments in North America. The operation runs primarily in Units 13A and 13B. The team is made up of seasoned professionals, many of them born and raised in the region, who know every canyon, basin, and vantage point on the Strip. Scouting begins months ahead of any hunt and continues until the last tag is punched.
HUNT DETAILS:
The Arizona Strip has produced more giant mule deer than almost anywhere in North America, and this outfitter has guided countless hunters to world-class bucks here, including numerous deer grossing over two hundred inches. The method is glassing, and a great deal of it. Guides pick apart canyons and basins from vantage points they have used for years, and once a buck worth pursuing is located, the stalk is worked out around both the terrain and what the hunter can physically handle. That tailoring matters, because Strip country punishes anyone who tries to hunt it the same way every day. First-time Strip hunters and veterans of the place are handled the same way, with the plan built around the individual. Pre-hunt communication is detailed and the camp is organized, which is what a hunter should expect when tags are this limited and the stakes are this high. There is no room for guesswork on a Strip tag, and the approach here reflects that.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lodging is comfortable and practical, which suits the remote nature of the Strip. Depending on where the hunt takes place, hunters stay either in well-equipped camp trailers positioned close to the active hunting areas or in clean family ranch houses that make a welcoming, down-home base for the week. The trailers are the better option when the hunting is far from anything, since they cut travel time down to nothing. Either way, hunters get hot meals and a warm bed, and the crew running things works as hard off the mountain as on it. Nothing needs to be arranged once a hunter arrives.
