ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter operates in the Yukon Territory, where each outfitter holds an exclusive concession with no overlapping boundaries. What sets this area apart is that it has no road access at all, either on the boundary or anywhere inside it. Everything has to be flown in, including supplies, gear, guides, and hunters, which is a considerable logistical undertaking. It also means the country stays as it was, with no traffic, no pressure from outside hunters, and conditions that are difficult to find anywhere else on the continent. For hunters wanting a remote wilderness hunt rather than the idea of one, that isolation is the entire draw, and this operation is built around delivering it.
HUNT DETAILS:
The concession covers more than two and a half million acres and holds some of the highest moose densities in the Yukon. Bulls here typically run fifty to sixty-five inches and better, and the Pope and Young number one world record Alaska-Yukon moose came off this ground. Hunters can choose between two styles. Horse camp hunts offer mobility and let a guide cover a lot of country, while boat camp hunts work the water and put hunters within reach of shoreline feeding areas. The hunting itself comes down to glassing, calling, and watching bulls move in the open, and patience matters more than effort on a hunt like this. Bowhunters, rifle hunters, and muzzleloader hunters are all welcome, and this outfitter has a particular reputation among bowhunters. Trips run twelve days with ten full hunting days, and other species can be pursued along the way. Decades of experience in this country stand behind all of it.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The outfitter maintains more than twenty established horse and boat camps across the concession, so hunters are rarely far from a real roof. The cabins are rustic but comfortable, heated by a wood fire, with limited power from a generator and a foam mattress on a solid wooden bed frame. Most camps also have a shower house and an outhouse, which is more than hunters usually get this far from a road. Nothing here is fancy, but coming back to a warm, dry cabin every night rather than a tent makes a real difference over a twelve day trip in country this remote.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
The outfitter will provide all tags as part of the hunt. However, a Yukon Big Game hunting license must be purchased online at least one month before the hunt begins.
