ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This outfitter has been hunting the area for over 43 years, and has been outfitting since the early 80's. It is a generational family-run business that provides fully guided and outfitted hunts for black bear, rocky mountain elk, rocky mountain bighorn sheep, and canadian moose. Their reputation precedes themselves with a high number of return-clientele, and they are always welcoming new clients each season as well. If any of the hunts this outfitter provides are on your list, this is a great option all around for a quality hunt and experience.

HUNT DETAILS:
Moose hunts are conducted during the prime rut times, from mid-September to the end of October, when the animals are responding to calling. This helps ensure the success of the hunter. 50 & 55 inches is roughly the average size moose in the area. However, moose in the 60-inch range have been taken yearly! These hunts also can take place in the same heavy terrain as our Elk hunts.

For hunters seeking a true wilderness adventure, this backcountry horseback hunt in Alberta delivers an unparalleled experience. This hunt takes place deep in the rugged Canadian Rockies, where dense timber, and sprawling alpine meadows provide the perfect habitat. Guided by an experienced outfitter, hunters will ride into remote, untouched terrain where the sights, sounds, and challenges of a true backcountry hunt come to life. This adventure begins on horseback, as hunters and guides travel miles into prime country, far beyond road access and the pressures of heavily hunted areas. Riding through steep mountain trails, crossing crystal-clear streams, and navigating thick forests, hunters are immersed in the raw beauty of Alberta’s wilderness. The journey itself is an adventure, with well-trained horses carrying hunters and gear into this remote area.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters are housed in sturdy canvas wall tents, offering reliable shelter from the elements. Each tent is equipped with a wood stove, ensuring warmth on frosty mornings and cold evenings. Inside, cots provide a comfortable place to rest after days of hunting, glassing, and pursuing trophy elk. The tents are spacious enough to accommodate multiple hunters, creating a communal, campfire-style atmosphere while maintaining enough personal space for gear and relaxation. While this is a true backcountry experience, essential comforts are in place to ensure a well-rounded and enjoyable hunt. A large dining tent serves as the heart of the camp, where hot, home-cooked meals are prepared daily. From a hearty breakfast before sunrise to a satisfying dinner around the fire, meals are designed to fuel hunters for the demanding terrain. Located miles from the nearest road, this Alberta elk hunting camp is accessible only by horseback or ATV, adding to the adventure. Hunters ride deep into prime elk country, where guides lead daily excursions, utilizing glassing points, calling techniques, and tracking.
