HUNT DETAILS:
Hunters will have the option to choose between a river float hunt or a remote backpack-style lake hunt, both designed to access areas that are difficult or impossible to reach by horseback. These hunt styles allow hunters to reach remote country with very little pressure and excellent moose habitat. During the rut, guides rely heavily on glassing and calling, often drawing bulls close in response to the sounds of a rival bull or receptive cow.
On an average hunt, hunters can expect to see around twenty moose, with four to five bulls typically falling into the trophy category. The outfitter maintains a success rate of over 90% on mature bulls, a testament to the quality of the area and their experience guiding hunters in this remote region.
The average antler width of bulls harvested runs between 59 and 60 inches, with exceptional trophies occasionally pushing into the low 70-inch range. Regardless of spread, most bulls taken here are known for their impressive palmation and strong point development, producing the classic Yukon trophy moose many hunters dream of. If you're looking for a true wilderness moose hunt during the peak of the rut, this is an incredible opportunity to experience one of North America’s premier big-game destinations.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters are flown into a dedicated seasonal basecamp before moving into the field for the duration of the hunt. Horseback camps feature comfortable wall tents with wood stoves for cooking and relaxing during inclement weather, while backpack hunts utilize lightweight, high-quality mountain tents to remain mobile and efficient. Each hunter is provided their own sleeping tent unless they specifically request to share. Meals on horseback hunts include fresh breakfasts and suppers prepared by guides, while backpack hunts utilize high-quality freeze-dried meals and field-ready lunches.
