Horseback Spring Bear Hunt HFEO233

This outfitter has operated a small, high-quality operation since 1987. Hunts take place on public land in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. He ensures a high population of mature bears. Color phase bears are common. There are only one or two hunters in camp. Hunts are conducted from a vehicle-based camp. From there, you will use horses to access hunting areas and bait sites.

The White Clouds are unequaled in their beauty during May and June when these hunts take place. The high peaks are white capped with snow while the valleys and river corridors are experiencing an annual event called "Green Up." Life is returning to the White Clouds, and after six months in hibernation, these spring "blackies" with their glossy coats emerge with veracious appetites.

We use two methods to hunt these splendid animals this time of year, either "spot and stalk" or "hunting over bait". Both methods give the avid rifle hunter or archer ample opportunity to harvest the bear of their dreams.
