Hi all,

I drew a Wyoming elk tag for unit 30 and would appreciate any advise from hunters familiar with the unit.

My son got it done opening morning on a monster buck.
We made it out Friday afternoon before the rains hit that evening. We found his number one scouted buck but he had a broken prong. Five minutes later we found a great buck biggest I've ever seen alive. We decided because of rain coming in that we would camp in the truck not too far away in case it was to muddy opening morning to get around. Not much sleep that night!
Opening morning thirty minutes after shooting light we found a nice buck with four does but not the big boy. We watched him and he starting moving towards the east going a quarter a mile right to the big buck to fight him. We were able to move in but not close enough for a muzzy shot. My son decided he was to big to not take a chance of losing him. So he shot him with the 270 dropping him. As we walked up he keep getting bigger and bigger. Our green net score is 86 4/8. He is incredibly heavy with great prongs not broken and a beautiful heart shape. We can't believe it.

Hey Thor,
Dudley's silver back and nock 2 it are made by carter. Ive used several carter releases. The scott mongoose and little goose have tons of travel on the trigger. The evolution is a great release aid. The only difference is the evolution is 3 finger and not 2 finger like dudley's. I shoot a handheld release for hunting and like a thumb trigger and use the Evolution for practice. You should be able to pick up something used. They can be expensive. Also look at Carter's index released like the RX and Quickie. These have adjustable triggers with no travel.
I hope this helps. Shoot strait
