The hunting seasons for the hunts offered take place in September for archery and muzzleloader hunts, and October and November for rifle hunts. Late October and November coincide with the pre-rut and peak rut phases. This timing increases the likelihood of encountering dominant bucks as they become more active, searching for does. Hunting during this period also presents the challenge of unpredictable mountain weather, from crisp, clear mornings to snow-covered landscapes that push deer into lower elevations.
