This hunt takes place on a 1.6 million acre concession in the Niassa Game Reserve in northern Mozambique. This area is home to four of the big five with very high populations of leopard, lion, and buffalo. Niassa is also home to great populations of plains game, including Roosevelt sable, Bohm's zebra, Johnston's impala, Niassa Wildebeest, and Lichtenstein hartebeest. The best hunting in Mozambique is found in the more remote areas, especially in the north near Tanzania and in the west, not far from Zimbabwe. These major hunting countries and the neighboring reserves or parks, such as Niassa, ensure larger animal populations and diversity for Mozambique. The area boasts an incredible biodiversity that comprises various habitats including miombo woodlands, open grassland, lush riverine forest, floodplains, and evergreen mountain slopes.
This outfitter specializes in dangerous game safaris for leopard, lion, and buffalo. Success rates are outstanding on all species. It is not uncommon to have 6 to 10 leopards on bait during the course of a normal safari. Plains game populations are incredibly healthy and most days you will see hundreds of animals throughout the course of a normal hunting day.
On a normal leopard hunt in this area they can have between 6-10 Leopards on bait during the safari. There are 19 other species of hunt-able game in the area. You can see a couple hundred of animals per day. Only mature mail animals will be hunted, and many Gold medal trophies have been taken over the years.
These leopard hunts consist of driving between baits and seeing if it was hit. If it was hit by a mature
male, a blind will be put up and the hunter will wait for the cat to return to the bait. While driving
between baits hunters can take some of the other species available.
This outfitter offers a 14 day all inclusive leopard package that includes daily rates, leopard trophy fee, hunting license, full accommodations, service of professional hunter, 4x4 vehicles, camp staff, skinners, trackers, field preparation of trophies, along with all meals and drinks.
