DESCRIPTION:

This is a family run operation, and all of their guides are all licensed trained professionals. They are protected wilderness areas located in Idaho. At 2.3 million acres, it is the largest contiguous area of protected wilderness in the continental United States. Together with the adjacent and surrounding unprotected roadless Forest Service land, it is the core of a 3.3 million acre roadless area. This outfitter is permitted to operate in all of their areas. They are a full service outfitter that offers guided and unguided/drop-camp trips for Elk and Deer, and they also offer guided trips for Sheep, Black bear, Mtn. Lion, and Fishing.

For Elk, they offer September RIFLE HUNTS DURING THE RUT with guaranteed tags. No Draw Necessary for these hunts! Their outfit is a combination of former outfitting businesses and is currently one of Idaho's Largest backcountry outfitting businesses. They don't overcrowd their pack-in camps, and most of their camps only have 2 hunters per hunt. They don't mix hunting parties in their pack-in camps as well. Plan on staying in comfortable clean wall tents/TeePee tents with heat and cots.

The fires in the past years have burned many acres and created excellent elk & deer habitat, and they are in a joint party agreement in the area to provide lodging services during some of their spring bear and fall hunts. The Elk season begins in September and runs through October. Deer season begins in September and runs through November. If they have deer tags available, you may have the option of purchasing a deer tag also. They offer September rifle hunts during the rut, and they are allocated a certain amount of tags for September, and these hunts fill up fast!

Their October hunts are very promising as well. Many times Elk will still be bugling in early October, depending on the weather they have in September. If they have snow, it makes the elk move more frequently and they are easier to spot. The fires in the last few years have burned many acres creating excellent habitat and creating great hunting opportunities. They find themselves using spotting scopes more than ever before. This is some of the best spot and stalk hunting in the nation. It is not uncommon to see many trophy class elk/deer during your hunt.

Guides are responsible for packing out game, especially during warm weather hunts. They will ride into camp on horseback, some camps they utilize horse and some camps they hike from camp. Drop camps will not have any horses in camp.Camp locations vary from roadside base camps along a remote road, to a 3-7 hour ride-in on horseback to their pack-in camps. Horses and mules are not always left in camp. Wilderness hunts are physical and they will hunt you to the best of your ability. Clients may also purchase a bear and a wolf tag on all elk hunts.

Opportunity rate on these hunts is near 100%. You're going to see elk! They experience hunts with 100% kill and others with 0%. Kill rates vary greatly with the weather, physical ability and hunter's willingness to hunt every day of their hunt. All of their hunters pay for a first-class fair chase hunt, and all hunters receive a first-class fair chase hunt!

What about the food? Food is all pre-made, vacuum sealed and frozen. On occasion they do use Mountain House. Drop camps must bring their own food and be able to fit in 2 coolers ONLY. These coolers must NOT have wheels on them. No larger than 100 qt.
