HUNT DETAILS:
This whitetail hunt takes place on a private, low-fence ranch of more than twelve thousand acres in the western Hill Country, all of it prime free-range whitetail habitat. Low-fence matters in Texas, and on ground this size the deer behave like wild deer. The outfitter runs a variety of styles depending on conditions and hunter preference. Traditional blind and feeder setups work well and suit anyone who would rather sit and let deer come to them. When bucks are moving and responsive, rattling and spot and stalk come into play, which is a more active way to hunt mature Hill Country bucks. Compared with this outfitter's western hunts, this one is considerably less physically demanding, which opens it up to a wider range of hunters. Each hunt is a fully inclusive four-day package, two half days and two full days, guided two hunters to a guide, with one on one available.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters stay in a local ranch house or a nearby Airbnb, whichever sits closest to the hunting location. The accommodations are simple rather than fancy, but they are comfortable and welcoming, and they give hunters a real place to relax at the end of a long day. Meals are covered as well, usually prepared by the guide, and the food runs to the direct and satisfying end of things rather than anything elaborate. The point of the setup is to remove hassle. Nobody has to book a room, find a restaurant, or plan logistics on arrival, which leaves the entire trip focused on hunting.
