DESCRIPTION:

The Huntin' Fool team has been working with this outfitter since the late 90's and when it comes to Oregon hunting, they're one of the best there is! This outfitter is a Northeastern Oregon based outfitting business located in the heart of big game hunting paradise. They spend a significant amount of time in the famed “Hells Canyon Recreational Area” which is North America’s deepest river gorge.  This outfitter is a diverse group of hard-core hunters specializing in multiple species in the state of Oregon. These species include sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, elk and antelope. They pride themselves on being prepared and providing successful hunts for all 5 big game species. They strive for nothing less than 100% success and they provide a full-service experience.

When it comes to elk, Oregon is quickly becoming well known for rising elk herds and quality bulls. Elk are amazingly adaptable and can live almost anywhere – forest, deserts, mountains and plains. Ironically, Oregon is very diverse and provides all types of terrain.

PRIVATE LAND HUNTS: This outfitters’ primary private land hunting area takes place within the Lookout Mountain Unit (64). Their Lookout Mountain hunt is a lodge/cabin style hunt with full amenities. Access is private, success rate is 100% and they provide a hunt for all skill levels. They have guaranteed Land Owner Preference (LOP) tags available for all rifle hunts.  Archery tags are over the counter.

*NOTE: Lookout Mountain: At this time they are not accepting reservations for our Unit 64 private land hunts. They are booked through the 2027 season. If you would like to be added to their waiting list, we can let them know so just give us a call and we’ll take care of that for you! They will keep us and/or you updated as opportunities open up.

PUBLIC LAND HUNTS: The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) manages the eastern portion of our state with a controlled hunt draw, which includes a preference point system.  As a result, a good portion of their premium hunts take several years to draw and, in most cases, are “once in a lifetime” tags. The responsibility of providing premium hunts is what drives them.

Mt. Emily, Walla Walla and Wenaha Units: Consistently, Oregon’s best elk hunting units, “The Big 3”, are considered by most as once-in-a-lifetime hunts. This outfitter’s team of professional elk hunting guides are passionate about harvesting mature bulls, whether archery or rifle.  The majority of their hunts include western hospitality with wall- tent camps and outdoor cooking. One of the keys to their success is preseason scouting. They take pride in knowing every inch of their hunting areas/units and they feel it’s extremely critical to their success, and they state that consistent trophy success is obtained by their complete preparation. Their hunts take place on both private and public lands as they operate under long term private land leases and special use permits provided by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and US Forest Service (FS). Hunting multiple areas within Oregon and Idaho provides a diversified landscape, which also allows them to tailor hunts for each hunter’s ability. They limit the number of clients on all of their hunts in order to control the quality of each experience. In addition, their private hunting leases are on a long-term basis which allows them to control predators and monitor the annual harvest ratios for each species. As a result of their management practices, they have an influence on the age class of their animals.

Oregon statewide tags and Premium Tags:?With their passion and goals of harvesting the best animals Oregon has to offer, every year they find themselves traveling the eastern part of the state hunting elk. Whether it’s with an early or late season tag holder, scouring the winter ranges videoing or shed hunting, they are always looking for mature bulls. If you have an interest in their services for a statewide or premium hunt, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  They have a statewide network of hard-core hunters, and we can help you get dialed in with them!

They have extensive knowledge and a rich history of hunting in the following units: Lookout Mountain, Snake River, Keating, Chesnimnus, Wenaha, Mt. Emily, Walla Walla, Ukiah, Heppner, Fossil and Columbia Basin.
