This HFA Endorsed Outfitter has over 10 years of experience in the outfitting industry and has the experience, know-how, and drive to provide quality hunting, guiding, and outfitting services in the High Uintah’s Wilderness of Northeastern Utah. This outfitter guides in an area that he grew up hunting with his family as a youth and has hunted for 20+ years. This area has a diverse population of game species including elk, mountain goat, mule deer, moose, upland game, cougar, and coyote. There are a lot of lakes, rivers, streams, and springs in this area providing plenty of fishing opportunities. All areas are accessed via horseback on the well-maintained trails in the area. The hunt area encompasses thousands of acres in the High Uintah’s Wilderness.
Elk are the most plentiful game species in the area, offering a great opportunity to see, call, and stalk multiple elk. Expect to hunt rag-horn to 290 type bulls. This area is not known for giant bulls, but 300 to 350 bulls are killed on this mountain range every year. Being this deep in the wilderness, you never know when you could come upon a trophy bull.
Hunts will take place the first three weeks of September with light rut activity the first week of September progressing to high rut activity the third week. Regardless of hunting success, the ability to experience the high country on horseback is an unforgettable experience.
