DESCRIPTION:

This is a British Columbia-based full service outfitting company providing Lynx hunts with hounds. Every year they pursue Canadian Lynx, Bobcat, and trophy Mountain Lion for their Non-Resident predator hunts in this area. This outfitter works hard year after year to seek out and get their clients into the very best areas for these hunts. The outfitter welcomes groups of 2 or 4 on this hunt, and it works really well set up for the single hunter, as well as family groups or friends wanting to hunt together and enjoy each others' experiences.

This outfitter consists of 2-3 professional guides and a team of hounds second to none. This isn’t something they book and then pass you off to a second-party or part-time hound guide. They personally, along with their guides and hound team, are with you every step of the way and love every minute of it! This is an active hunt, with lots of action, and so far these hunts have consistently sent clients home happy and successful all around! They spend well over 100 days a year with their hounds hunting Lion, Lynx, Bobcat, and Bears. British Columbia has done a great job strictly managing their Lynx, helping to allow them to reach full maturity with tremendous trophy potential un-matched anywhere else in the world! Bobcat and Lynx that endure these harsh Northern winters have prime fur making for an amazingly unique trophy to take home. The professional team of guides and staff pride themselves on attention to detail and customer service ensuring that the hunt of a lifetime is as much of a priority to them as it is to the client. They live for their hounds, and being in the industry for years has allowed them to hunt with and seek out the very best strains of big game hounds from all over Canada and the US. They breed, raise and train their own hounds at their Alberta based kennel.

CERTAIN SPECIAL AREAS OF BRITISH COLUMBIA OFFERS ALL THREE CANADIAN CAT SPECIES IN ONE LOCATION. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PLACES! Very low hunting pressure, world class genetics, and the harsh winter weather helps these cats grow to beautiful specimens in size, maturity, and fur quality. Definitely a must for every trophy room! Their guide areas encompass the northern most range where these cats roam, and if you're interested in pursuing the North America Cat Slam, which includes Lion, Lynx, and Bobcat, you can accomplish all three on this hunt! A Bobcat and Mountain Lion can be added to your Lynx hunt for an additional fee, and you can see the pricing for these add-on's in this profile.

When it comes down to quantities of cats, they are "plentiful"! This is truly world class lynx hunting, and this is the outfitters' specialty! The geography of this hunting area is enormous. The thrill of the chase and the excitement of the dogs chasing the Lynx through the forest has been best described by clients as an "unforgettable experience"!

The outfitter is a skilled hounds-men that has almost 20 years under his belt running predators with hounds. They are highly skilled and knowledgeable, ensuring the safety and success of the hunt. The teams expertise in tracking and handling the dogs is second-to-none, providing the hunter with an opportunity to take the right shot. Hunting with hounds provides an opportunity to observe the Lynx in their natural habitat and state, including their behavior and movements. This is a fascinating and educational experience for all hunters, and it provides opportunities for great photography! The thrill of the chase, the beauty of the surrounding wilderness, the expertise of the skilled hounds-men, the observation of cat behavior, and the responsible and ethical hunting practices, all compiles into an all around awesome hunt that everyone should experience at least once.

Lodging takes places in a comfortable cabin, where home-cooked meals are prepared for all meals. They can accommodate up to 4-5 hunters at a time, and hunts are performed with one guide taking two hunters at a time. May and June are the two main months that bears are hunted and pursued, and limited spots are available each year, so planning in advance is critical.

The terrain is characterized by rugged mountains, deep valleys, dense forests, and remote wilderness areas. It’s home to the Rocky Mountains and the Coast Mountains, which provide a stunning and dramatic backdrop to the entire hunting experience. The forests are dense and diverse, ranging from boreal forests to temperate rainforests. These forests provide habitat for a variety of wildlife species, and offer opportunities for tracking and stalking the cats as well, even though there’s not much use for that with the hounds. It’s also home to numerous rivers and lakes, and these waterways can provide great habitat for black bears and they contribute to Lynx and cats in general reaching an average upper-age-class.

The weather in northern British Columbia can be unpredictable and can vary widely depending on the season and location. Hunters should be prepared for a range of weather conditions, including rain, snow, and cold temperatures, as well as strong winds and changing weather patterns. Overall, the terrain of northern British Columbia is varied and challenging, offering hunters a unique and exciting hunting experience. The rugged mountains, dense forests, waterways, remote wilderness, and changing weather patterns all contribute to the beauty and challenge of hunting Lynx with hounds in this region.

Lynx hunting is highly regulated, with specific quotas and regulations in place to ensure the conservation and sustainable management of the population. Participating in a hunt that follows these regulations is a responsible and ethical hunting experience.
