DESCRIPTION:

This outfitter is a small family owned and operated business in Idaho. They carry multiple state licenses, permits, and private leases to be able to offer high quality, successful hunts. They offer hunts for Black Bear, Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer, Elk, and Mountain Lion. You can also harvest a wolf while on your hunt if the opportunity presents itself. Tag must be purchased prior to hunt. They also offer high mountain fishing trips as add-ons to their hunts. They raise and train their own dogs, they cook, and they personally guide 85% of their clients. This is what they do for a living.

This is a backpack hunt, and how this hunt/trip goes is completely dependent on how much time you want to put into fishing and how much time into hunting. You can fish the huge untouched creek and your guide can gain elevation and glass and use radios to keep in touch…. You can leap frog with the guide from ridge to ridge or glass back and forth and fish when it’s hot… you’re going to be in a place that hasn’t had a trail opened in decades. You will be in an area very remote and far from any road and the bears there have not been hunted. And the fish haven’t been fished. Additional days can be added to the hunt ahead of time for $400 per day, if you’d like to make it more than 6 days, up to 10.

*AFTER you harvest one bear and pack it out, you can pay $1000 to go back in and keep hunting a second bear or go stay at base camp and keep hunting for a second bear for the duration of your hunt.

Sometimes they have to skin the bear on the mountain but they get most of them out whole and skin them at camp. Taking the bear meat is not required in Idaho, but they will gladly quarter your bear and pull back-straps if you wish. They hang the hide overnight to cool thoroughly, and then you can take it to a check in station about 20 miles away. After it’s checked they have freezers to freeze it solid for your journey home, or they can deliver it to their long-time trusted taxidermist for you.

This is a backpack hunt. If the outfitter provides your camp, you’ll have a nice sleeping bag, one man tent, and comfortable pack for your clothes and sleeping pad. If you provide your own camp and gear, this means you understand what it takes and you shouldn’t need much explanation. We strongly suggest using the outfitter gear for this hunt option. Otherwise, communicate with the outfitter so that you know exactly what to bring.
