DESCRIPTION:

This HFA Endorsed Outfitter is a family run operation with a working cattle ranch that began in 1900. The family runs the ranch and the hunting operation, which provides opportunities to hunt various species that include whitetail, aoudad, antelope, turkey, hogs, and predators. During your stay they will accommodate you with a beautiful new cabin/ranch house with full amenities. They have packages to fit most anyone's budget or interest. Because of the layout of the country in this area, hunters experience lower hunting pressure compared to other regions of the state, particularly in densely populated areas. This results in less competition for hunting opportunities and a more relaxed hunting experience. It's known for its vast expanses of remote topography, offering hunters the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and immerse themselves in the solitude and serenity of the natural world. The expansive landscapes and rugged terrain create an authentic experience that is unparalleled in other parts of Texas.

The Aoudad were introduced into the state of Texas in the late 40's and early 50's. Since 1963 the numbers of Aoudad in Texas has grown 1,800% with over 25,000 sheep in the state of Texas. This ranch has great numbers of aoudad, and to maintain the trophy numbers, they offer only a limited number of hunts a year. Hunters will be put on a minimum of a 30" ram, with several rams on the ranch potentially going 35" plus. With its abundant sheep population and prime hunting habitat, this operation boasts high success rates for Aoudad sheep. Hunters can expect productive hunts with opportunities to harvest mature rams! The pictures are the proof in the pudding.

This outfitter offers 60,000 acres of the finest free range aoudad sheep hunting West Texas has to offer. This area offers diverse hunting terrain, including rolling hills, mesquite flats, brush country, and river bottoms. This varied landscape provides ample opportunities for different hunting styles, from spot-and-stalk to stand hunting, catering to the preferences and skills of all types of hunters. Their 60,000 acre ranch consists of mesquite trees, cap rock cliffs, cedar canyons, and several large agricultural fields. It doesn't matter if you are a gun or archery hunter, they can accommodate you! Archery hunting is tough, but they're always up for a challenge, and the owners are avid archery hunters.

The diversity of habitat in this area provides hunters with a wide range of hunting opportunities and challenges, from stalking rams in open prairies at times, to ambushing them in hills and cliffs. It's also known for its favorable weather conditions for hunting, with mild winters and relatively low precipitation compared to other parts of the state. These optimal weather conditions make hunting more comfortable and enjoyable. It's also home to a diverse array of wildlife species, including Whitetail Deer, Rio Grande Turkey, Javelina, Hogs or Wild Boar, and various upland game birds. The region's abundant wildlife populations provide hunters with ample hunting opportunities and the chance to pursue multiple species during the same trip.

Hunters have the option of adding a Whitetail to their Aoudad hunt. Hogs and predators are also an optional add-on. During the day, fishing on their private ponds is also available. They know which methods work best, along with the proper gear/tackle, bait, and/or lures that produce the best success. Communicate with the outfitter prior to your trip for more details on what they may suggest you bring with you.

This part of Texas has an extended hunting season compared to other regions, allowing hunters more flexibility in planning their hunting trips. This longer season increases the chances of encountering deer during peak rutting activity, offering hunters optimal opportunities for success.
