HUNT DETAILS:
This is a fully guided rifle elk hunt in Idaho's Diamond Creek Zone, and the access behind it is what sets it apart. The outfitter holds an exclusive 8,000-acre private lease along with BLM and Forest Service permits, which opens up elk habitat that sees little pressure. The country is varied, running from rolling meadows into dense timber and on into rugged backcountry, and that mix supports three complementary approaches. Guides glass at long range to locate bulls, work calling setups on vocal bulls, and stalk in close when the situation calls for it. Extensive scouting is done ahead of each hunt so that time in the field is spent on animals already located. Bulls in this country run from around two hundred eighty inches to better than three hundred ten, and the focus stays on mature animals rather than the first legal bull that shows. Hunters get five full days with a guide, and non-hunting guests can come along when arrangements are made in advance.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
This is an all-inclusive hunt, with lodging and meals covered from start to finish. A dedicated cook handles the food, which means hunters eat prepared meals rather than fending for themselves at the end of a long day, and nobody is cooking after dark. Lodging is provided by the outfitter for the length of the hunt, so there is nothing for hunters to book or coordinate on their own. The guide and cook are both part of the package, and hunters arrive to a setup that is already running.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
