HUNT DETAILS:
This premier elk hunt begins at a trailhead where hunters ride several hours on horseback into a remote backcountry camp. Located on the western edge of Yellowstone National Park in Unit 51, this area is historically known for producing trophy-class bulls.
While elk densities here may be lower than in some other parts of the state, this outfitter and their experienced guides focus on quality over quantity—working hard to consistently put clients on bulls in the 330"–360"+ range.
All hunts are conducted on horseback, offering a classic and immersive Western hunting experience. The backcountry camp is supported by a full-time cook who prepares hearty, all-you-can-eat meals, ensuring comfort even in rugged terrain.
This is physically demanding country, with elevations ranging from 8,500 to 11,000 feet. Prospective hunters are strongly encouraged to arrive in top physical condition. Both archery and rifle hunts are available, and the outfitter is committed to giving every client a fair shot at a truly exceptional bull.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Their tent camps are impressively clean, thoughtfully organized, and outfitted with wood stoves, new cots, a real shower stall, and hearty, home-cooked meals. The Wyoming Outfitter Board has awarded this operation its highest possible rating.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
