ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-endorsed outfitter, established in 2001, is a licensed Colorado Guide and Outfitter. They operate on some of the most game-rich private and public lands that Western Colorado has to offer. Their goal is to provide a high-quality hunting experience, ensuring great memories that last a lifetime.
Specializing in fully guided hunts, they boast excellent shot opportunity rates, consistently exceeding 90% for rifle mule deer and elk, as well as archery mule deer, and 70% for archery elk. With healthy herd numbers and a limited number of hunters each season, these success rates should continue for years to come. Their expert guides have extensive knowledge of both the game and the terrain, which ranges from 5,000 to 9,500 feet in elevation. The diverse landscape includes cedar and sage flats, oak brush, aspen groves, and towering spruce forests. They offer the perfect combination of experienced guides, hearty home-cooked meals, and comfortable accommodations to make your hunting trip truly worthwhile. Their mission is to provide every hunter with a top-tier experience.
HUNT DETAILS:
They offer both bull and cow elk hunts, with the average bull harvested scoring between 250" and 280". However, there is potential for a much larger bull depending on your physical ability and the terrain you can navigate. All hunts are 100% fair chase, conducted on prime private ranches and BLM lands. They lease a variety of properties in GMUs 52, 53, 62, 63, 65, and 521 and are fully permitted for all BLM land within these units. To maintain herd quality, they limit the number of hunters each year.
During the hunt, they use 4x4 vehicles and ATVs to access different areas of the ranches before continuing on foot. Standard hunts are typically conducted with a 2-on-1 guide-to-hunter ratio, with 1-on-1 hunts available for an additional fee. All hunts last 4 or 5 days unless otherwise specified.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
During your hunt, you'll stay in either a comfortable cabin at 9,000 feet or a guest house at 5,500 feet, depending on the season and the species being pursued. A full-service cook will prepare three hearty meals daily, along with a variety of snacks and beverages. Both accommodations offer clean bedding and hot showers for a relaxing and comfortable stay. They are also equipped to accommodate hunters with varying physical abilities.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Colorado operates on a preference point system for drawing licenses in limited units, with each unit and season requiring a different number of points to secure a tag. Some areas also offer over-the-counter (OTC) tags. Elk hunts are available during Archery (draw only), 1st Rifle (draw only), 2nd Rifle (OTC), 3rd Rifle (OTC), and 4th Rifle (draw only) seasons. The Huntin' Fool License Application Service is available to assist you with the application process when the time comes.
