ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter was founded in 2017 with the stated goal of becoming Montana's premier hunting operation. The specialty is elk and deer on private ground in Montana's best general units, which is a valuable niche given how difficult access has become in this state. They also run private land hunts in special draw units and exclusive permit areas, so hunters with points to burn have options as well. The emphasis throughout is on quality over volume and on personalized service rather than moving hunters through on a schedule. For a relatively young operation, the goal they set is ambitious, and the private access behind it is what makes it credible.

HUNT DETAILS:
Montana's Region 3 is the most densely populated elk region in the state, and this outfitter runs most of its general hunts on private ground directly across the road from Unit 380, the hardest elk permit to draw in Montana. The country is a big valley with scattered alfalfa and hay fields in the bottoms, springs and creeks running through them, and better elk habitat as the ground rises. Flats and cuts give way to mountains, thick timber, and scattered open meadows. The valley floor sits at forty-six hundred feet and climbs to an average of sixty-eight hundred. The outfitter leases five ranches covering over twenty-five thousand acres, holds exclusive hunting rights on all of them, and runs a limited number of hunters under a real management plan. Success has run at seventy-five percent, with a target bull of two hundred seventy to three hundred and opportunity at a three hundred thirty class bull. Over sixty bulls have come off this ground in the last six years. Most are six-point bulls scoring two hundred seventy to two hundred eighty, with the largest at three hundred forty to three hundred fifty.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters stay in a comfortable cabin for the length of the five-day hunt. Hearty home-cooked meals are included throughout, so nobody is buying groceries or looking for a restaurant after dark. The cabin gives hunters a warm, dry place to sleep and somewhere to spread out gear at the end of the day, which matters more than most hunters anticipate over five hard days at elevation. Everything is arranged by the outfitter, from lodging and food to access, so hunters arrive with their gear and nothing else to coordinate. Evenings are spent around the cabin with the rest of the group going back over the day.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Tags for this hunt are available only through the draw. Huntin' Fool's Application Service can assist with completing and submitting your draw application.
