ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter runs a small personal operation in some of the most remote, rugged and game-rich country in the lower 48. This outfitter guides most clients personally and will be with them during the duration of the hunt. They are fortunate to hunt areas that they know well and strive to offer unparalleled opportunities for solitude and adventure. They take a limited number of clients each year.

HUNT DETAILS:
They primarily hunt the Northwest corner of Montana, which holds the highest density of bears in the state. In Montana, all black bear hunting is conducted using spot-and-stalk methods only, as baiting and hound hunting are not allowed. Limited hunting opportunities combined with strong fall berry crops make this a prime destination for bear hunting. Spring season begins April 15 and runs through the end of May, when bears emerge from dens and focus on fresh grasses and food sources found on south-facing slopes and along old logging roads. Most days are spent hiking and glassing in search of a mature bear, with hiking intensity tailored to each client’s fitness level, though hunters should expect to be on foot throughout the day. With a high bear population and beautiful spring weather, this hunt offers not only excellent success rates but also an unforgettable outdoor experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
For groups of four or more, accommodations are in a lodge setting with full meals provided for breakfast and dinner, along with fresh, packed lunches for the field. Smaller groups of one to two hunters stay in wall tents, with breakfast typically at a local restaurant, dinner prepared at the truck, and fresh packed lunches provided each day. Hunts are conducted using a combination of truck access and hiking, with drive times generally ranging from 20 minutes to an hour.
