ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter is a small, family run operation that owns two thousand acres of mixed agriculture and timber in Iowa Zone 4. The ground is managed for mature whitetails, and hunting pressure is kept very low so buck activity is not suppressed. Alongside the Iowa property, the outfit leases several hundred acres in northern Missouri about thirty minutes away, which gives hunters a second option close by. The Missouri ground produces good deer in its own right. Being family run means a small number of hunters, direct communication with the people who manage the property, and a hunt that does not feel like an assembly line.

HUNT DETAILS:
This is a gun hunt on both the Iowa and Missouri properties, built around food. Standing crops are left in strategic locations on both farms, and blinds are positioned to overlook those key food sources rather than scattered at random. Once bucks shift their attention to feeding, those crop fields become the highest percentage place to be, and good bucks will move to them in daylight as conditions turn. Hunters sit blinds over these setups, which makes the hunt manageable for a wide range of physical abilities and keeps hunters out of the weather. Both shotgun and muzzleloader hunters do well here. The country is classic Midwest whitetail ground, hardwood ridges and timber broken up by agriculture, with big bucks using the cover between food and bedding. The Iowa farm is managed for mature deer and kept under light pressure, and the Missouri ground produces solid bucks as well, so hunters have quality on either side of the line.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters stay in a fully furnished basement at the farmhouse, which is comfortable, warm, and about as convenient as deer hunting gets. Hot meals are served in a relaxed setting, and dinner tends to run long as hunters trade stories about what they saw that day. Some hunters walk straight from the farmhouse to their stand in the morning, which is a rare thing on a guided hunt. Others make the short drive over to the Missouri properties. Either way there is no hotel to book, no restaurant to find, and no long commute eating into hunting time on either end of the day.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Permits can be purchased over-the-counter beginning July 1 and are the clients responsibility.
