DESCRIPTION:

The Big Blue Wilderness is a vast area of land in south-western Colorado, filled with scrub oak, aspen, spruce, and lodgepole pine. The region is a non-motorized public access area, providing a unique opportunity for big game hunting. Unit 65, in particular, is home to the legendary elk and trophy mule deer, both of which are known to be resident in the area. Many animals from this region have been listed in the Boone/Crockett and Pope/Young record books.

During the 7-day trip, participants will spend 5 days hunting, starting with a horseback ride to a remote fully furnished camp in the wilderness. From there, the hunt is strictly on foot. The trip is a DIY drop camp hunt, but experienced staff members will be on hand to help ensure a successful and enjoyable experience.

The hunt is restricted to individuals who weigh no more than 240 lbs, and being in excellent physical shape is essential for success. The region's terrain and conditions can be extreme, so participants need to be prepared. The wranglers will help transport harvested animals out of the camp or designated horse trails.

Overall, the Big Blue Wilderness hunting trip is perfect for extreme hunters seeking an unforgettable experience in the heart of elk, mule deer, and bighorn sheep country.
