HUNT DETAILS:
Few things excite a guide more than the opportunity to be part of a Wyoming Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep hunt. This outfitter was raised in Wyoming’s sheep country and comes from a family deeply rooted in the tradition and passion of sheep hunting. They consider sheep hunting the pinnacle of the hunting experience. When you book a hunt with them, you’ll likely have more than one guide assisting, as nearly every guide aspires to be involved in a sheep hunt—it’s truly considered an honor. Their guides are experienced, driven, and dedicated to scouting extensively to locate the best rams in each unit.
They put in unmatched effort to offer every hunter an exceptional opportunity at a quality Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep. Their focus is on Units 4 and 7, both of which they know intimately—every ridge, basin, and draw—and they consistently target the best areas to find mature rams.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
One of their primary wilderness hunting camps, set up with comfortable wall tents, is located in the heart of Area 7 sheep country. As a central base for their operations, it allows them to scout and monitor rams both before and throughout the hunting season. They spend the entire fall hunting in the core of Area 7, a region they know intimately and call home. From this main camp, hunters can pursue sheep in Unit 7 with the option of staying in the main wall tent camp or heading to a remote spike camp, depending on where the best rams have been spotted. In contrast, sheep hunts in Area 4 are conducted exclusively from a backcountry spike camp, which is packed in and set up deep in the mountains. Horses and mules are used to transport hunters and gear into the rugged high-country terrain where the hunt takes place.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the state draw. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
