Jason, Garth's son, grew up hunting from state to state in the 1980's
when hunting out of state was unheard of. He harvested a variety of big game species at a young age including Dall
Sheep in Alaska and Bison in his home state of Utah. He later attended Utah State University and graduated with a
Bachelors degree in Finance. He guided and outfitted in the states of Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and New Mexico. To
Jason's credit, he has harvested 3 of the 4 North American wild sheep, a couple of bulls over 350 including a 386
bull taken in New Mexico, and 8 Mule deer exceeding 200" gross including two non-typical bucks that net 234 and
262 B&C.
Jason is part owner of Carter's Hunter Services and The Huntin' Fool magazine. He is editor of the magazine
and is responsible for compiling and writing each western state analysis that is covered in the magazine
the first 6 months of the year. He oversees the booking agency and landowner tag divisions as well. He has
been working full time at The Huntin' Fool since 1997.
