The Way I See It.

Jason Carter

(Excerpt from the Jan 2007 issue of The Huntin' Fool)

It’s exciting to be kicking the new year off with one of the best, most informative magazines ever assembled! The new Arizona deadline for elk and antelope applications (Feb. 13th) has made it so this January issue is packed with more information than ever before and is designed to assist you in applying for all species in Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico Oryx as well as elk and antelope in Arizona. This issue not only contains information on these four states, but you will also find a list of auction/raffle tags available in each state, as well as endorsed hunts available with guaranteed tags. There are also some great stories from your peers and some incredible hunts they enjoyed this past year!
Service is something we all grew up with. In today’s automated and technologically advanced society, it is becoming a thing of the past. If you are like us, you are tired of calling an agency or company and getting lost in the automated phone systems. We take pride in providing our members with personal attention. We offer numerous services that only members of The Huntin’ Fool are privy to.
We offer what we call the Member Draw Success Network. If you draw a tag that you need some help on, call us. We may know the area or know someone who is familiar with it who may be able to help you. We will also send you a list of fellow members who have hunted that unit in the past with their phone numbers. Usually these are tags that are extremely hard to draw and as a result, members don’t feel like they are giving out their “back yard” secrets. This has been one of our most successful and widely used services for the last 12 years. There are thousands of die hard hunters in the database, including a lot of you. These members have a wealth of information and are willing to help you as long as you are willing to reciprocate when they draw a tag!
The Hot File listings are last minute hunt cancellations that have also generated enormous interest. This year you will not have to call to get your name on the Hot File list. We will e-mail the listings to anyone in the membership who has an e-mail address on file. We will also be e-mailing any last minute state updates, changes, or anything that might deserve immediate attention to members. This will be an incredibly fast way for us to keep you posted on changes in the western hunting world!
Anything you want from, landowner tags to guided hunts or detailed information on specific areas or hunts, we are able to help you. From January through December, it’s our job to get you from A to Z in western big game hunting. It doesn’t matter if it is statistics, applying you, or helping you choose a reputable outfitter, we have got you covered!
If you cannot already tell by reading this, we are on fire! Obtaining information on the states regarding the new 2007 application season before they print the information themselves is an awarding feat! Those of you who have been long term members know that if it is “old news” we don’t print it. We work hard on a daily basis at providing you with current and “up to the minute” new information that may help you enjoy a hunt of a lifetime! Keep in mind, that while you are working hard at your job, there are eight of us here at Carter’s Hunter Services working over time, doing our job, and making sure you don’t miss out on anything! I know it’s a bold statement but it is our goal to make your annual $100 membership fee the best hundred bucks you spend in 2007! Good Luck in the draws!
